The Museum of Art, MOA Seoul National University, was established in 1995 after years of development under the Department of Modern Art at Seoul National University Museum. It is the first university art museum in Korea dedicated exclusively to modern and contemporary art.
The museum was donated and built by the Samsung Group, a leading corporation in South Korea. It serves as a hub for artistic innovation and cultural exchange, attracting visitors from around the world.
Recently, MOA Seoul National University hosted renowned artist Grimanesa Amorós for an insightful artist talk. Amorós shared her artistic practice and the philosophy behind her immersive light installations. She discussed how her work bridges art, technology, and cultural identity, offering a fresh perspective on contemporary art.
Amorós explained how her installations transform spaces and engage viewers. She emphasized the importance of integrating art into educational environments. Her ability to merge art, science, and emotion resonated deeply with the audience.
The event highlighted the transformative power of art in fostering innovation and dialogue. Amorós’s work aligns with the museum’s mission to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and creativity. Her lecture left a lasting impression on attendees, inspiring them to think creatively and critically.
MOA Seoul National University continues to host events that bring together artists, scholars, and the public. These gatherings provide opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration. By fostering meaningful interactions, the museum empowers individuals to engage with art and culture in new ways.
